Teeth: so far just the 4 he's had forever. I asked my dad (a retired dentist) if he's ever seen someone whose teeth just.never.come.in. He assured me that I was cray cray.
Since he isn't walking yet, he had an early Intervention evaluation the first week in January. He barely qualified for speech therapy. I'm not worried about him. I told the evaluators "you want to see a speech delay, meet my other kid!" He did qualify for a gross motor delay. That same week he started standing on his own. Maybe he felt the EI pressure? I went ahead and enrolled him in the state EI program, but am declining formal therapy for now. I'll re-evaluate in another 2 months or so and if he's still not walking around 18m, I'll start PT.
He recently learned how to open doors (argggg), climb onto his rocking horse by himself, and still loves to climb up and down stairs. He's starting to throw tantrums when he doesn't get his way, hit, head butt, and bite when he's tired. Corinne is now realizing that she gets smacked in face by Evan if she takes something from him. Ah, her days of being able to push him around are drawing to a close. He now fights back. Ruthlessly.
Evan is down to one very predictable nap each day and wakes up 1-2 times a night. Problem is, he takes 1-2 hours to fall back asleep in the middle of the night. Not cool. Hopefully it's just teeth. I have had success with putting some teething gel in his mouth to get him to go down much faster.
He loves hide and seek, playing in the pantry/fridge, rocking on the rocking horse, dancing, and is pretty decent at shape sorting. Everything has a place. He will joyfully take the clothes out of the drawer and then put them all back, put the blocks back in the bag, and his water bottle HAS to go in the little bottle divot on the high chair tray.
He loves hair. If my hair isn't around to caress and pull, he'll use Corinne's (she doesn't like that) or his own. Since he pulls his hair so much, his hair is consistently sticking up in the middle, like it was styled that way.
He's had a constant cold for the last (almost) 2 months. It's not bad enough to do anything about, but he has snot. Lots of snot. It will be nice once winter is over.
