Papa visits Corinne's school

The topic for the month of December was "community helpers" at Corinne's pre-k class. The teachers invited "community helpers" to come in and speak to the class. So Papa, Corinne's grandfather, came in to talk to the class about being a dentist and oral care. Each of the kids got to take home an x-ray of a person who had.....cavities.

Christmas Roundup

We were up long before the kids got up. At which point, Matt and I kinda got into a tiff because he wanted to wake SLEEPING CHILDREN up, and I didn't want to deal with cranky, tired, over stimulated kids later when I was trying to clean up after Christmas morning, while trying to cook/prepare for the house full of guests that were going to arrive later that day. We settled on the compromise that once one kid wakes up, then he can wake the other kid. So the extra time in the morning allowed me to cook breakfast, take pictures, take a shower, and prep the cameras. 

Corinne's big gifts were a dollhouse and a 16' Princess bike (since she has recently outgrown the 12'' one)

Evan's big gifts were a train table and "a toy dog with a rope". The toy dog was the only thing he asked Santa to bring. Problem is, he didn't tell Santa until like two days before Christmas which means Santa couldn't even use Prime shipping to get it delivered in time. Thankfully, Santa knows how to use the B/S/T sites and was able to score one, new in box, on Christmas Eve. 

We got a picture of Santa putting presents out the night before. Santa left cookie crumbs and carrot remnants:

Evan woke up first, around 8a. He peeked over the railing and saw the presents. Matt said to him "let's go wake Corinne up." Evan replied "No!" and ran downstairs. 

A few minutes later, Corinne peaked over the railing to see what Santa left.

Evan checked to make sure that Santa ate the cookies.

The dollhouse is massive. Corinne fits inside. 

After a scavenger hunt throughout the house, where the clues were word jumbles, Matt found his big gift. I may never see him again unless I visit his man cave.

After eating all the rich food for the last few days, on Christmas night, Evan lets out a rasty fart. I asked Evan "Did you just fart?" He turned to me and said "I sure did!" #Honesty

December activites

Evan had his Christmas party at nursery school. Since he goes to school on Wednesday AND Thursday, he got to have the MWF party and the T/Th party. On Wednesday, I and MaMa got to attend, and on Thursday, after I picked up Uncle Mark, Uncle Mark and I stopped by for the party. Which mainly consisted of eating and decorating cookies. Sugar!!!

And because we didn't have enough sugar, we went home and made Christmas cookies. Cousins Becca and Ryan came over as well:

Corinne didn't want to help make the cookies, but she joined in for the decorating. 

You can always tell when Uncle Mark visits....

Never again will I make the mistake of taking the kids to see Bass Pro Shops Santa when the kids are out of school. Freaking madness. We only had to wait 1.5 hours because we got there right when it opened....

He sang this year! Yay! While playing with his hair, of course. Next year, I'm bringing a tripod. Using the telephoto lens with regular hands is tough. Most pics turned out blurry.

Rec classes - Evan

Evan just finished up a sports themed rec class, and on the last class they invite parents to come watch. They stretched, ran, threw/caught bean bags, hopscotch, baseball and soccer. There are only three boys in the class, and it was cute/funny to watch.

I enrolled Corinne in a 4yo ballet/tap class in November. Their "recital" is in May, but they allowed parents to come and watch on their last class in December before holiday break. Most of the other girls started the class in August, so Corinne had a bit of catch up to do, but here's 7 weeks' worth of lessons. 

She does enjoy it and loves her "special shoes" (tap shoes).

Evan wasn't impressed.
