Thanksgiving 2014

One of these years, the kids will smile and look at the camera at the same time. Maybe.

This kid packed away a pound of turkey. Nothing else. Just turkey.

Evan goes bowling

Corinne and M were home sick, so Evan and I met up with some friends for bowling and arcades.

He had a really good time and even got a spare or two.

Just taking one kid out in public is so easy. So so so easy.

Babies are cute

According to Corinne, babies are cute. Whenever she sees a baby on TV she says "Awwwwww, baby cute. Awwwww." Then Evan pipes in "Baby cute!"

Halloween party roundup

When I was a kid (aside from walking uphill backwards in the snow to school), we got 2 halloweens: one at school and one on actual Halloween.

These kids nowadays could have probably around 10 halloweens due to all the Halloween parties and trunk or treat events.

But we only went to four. Not including the trick or treating we went to at the library and Publix.

First event was the Moms Club Halloween party:

I brought my best attempt at a "healthy-ish" treat:

Halfway through the party, I noticed Corinne was missing. She had snuck off to under the swing set to eat her candy in  solitude:

Other kids were met with disdain:

But she shared her loot with Evan:

The stinger on Evan's bee costume slays me:

A few days later, we went to a Trunk or Treat:

The day before Halloween we trick or treated at a retirement home with the Moms group. The residents who wanted to participate hung a wreath on their doorknob and were delighted to see a parade of costumed toddlers at their door.

Actual Halloween sucked. It was windy, rainy, and cold. I'm glad I had two costumes for each of them and the second costume was a very warm Tom and Jerry costume. Which apparently is vintage as I was asked multiple times where did I ever find a Tom and Jerry costume? The answer: consignment sale.

We went over to a friend's house (Corinne was excited to see Ruv-Ra "Olivia") for dinner and to trick or treat in their neighborhood. Olivia is 5 years old and Corinne was able to match her for speed. Evan went at his own (slow) pace, doing about one house for every 3 the girls could do. Hopefully by next year he'll be fast and won't prefer to be carried.

Due to the weather, we were only able to get a few houses in before Evan had enough. Corinne stuck it out a while longer, but by the 15th house, she was done. Which means Mommy and Daddy's post Halloween candy supply is/was very slim.
