Screwing myself

I'm going to pay for this around 7:30 tonight when I have a kid who won't go the f*ck to sleep.

Girls' weekend

On Saturday, a "girls are all beautiful because they are children of God" club at the local high school sponsored a "princess brunch". Corinne got roses painted on her hand, ate snacks, decorated a cookie (for Evan), decorated a teacup, and mainly hung out with mom.

If we do end up staying here for the long term and the kids go to high school here, this will be a neat comparison photo: Corinne at 4 and at 18.

The next day, we went with a friend to go see Frozen on Ice. Corinne was captivated. As we were leaving, she took my hand and said "that was the best movie EVER!"

Life lesson

Evan has a kid in his class named Arjun. Most days, I hear stories about how Arjun pushed/took toys/yelled/etc. Arjun sounds like a handful and I'd like to send his mom a bottle of wine.

Corinne decided that Arjun must be "having a rough time" because he was acting this way. She made him a card so he would feel better.

In a world where we like to label rather than turn the other cheek, there are life lessons to be learned by a 4yo.

School "store"

In Corinne's classroom, they earn "money" by doing good deeds. If they hurt another kid, then they need to pay that kid.

At the end of the week, they can visit the school store and buy a toy. Instead of buying a toy for herself, Corinne bought a blue bead necklace to give Evan because "blue is Evan's favorite color."

Times I melt.
