Family reunion
On a Saturday, almost the whole extended family convened at my parents place for a BBQ and pool party. There were a bunch of girls aged 6-10 so Corinne was in heaven. She stuck like glue onto the girls.
The Rock made an appearance:
Corinne has become so confident around the pool lately that once someone let her into the pool area, she just went to the side and jumped in. No waiting for an adult or to put her water wings on, or anything. So a fully clothed adult jumped in after her to bring her to the surface.

Downtown
We checked out the new spray park near downtown San Diego. After that we went over to Seaport Villiage. The spray park felt good on a hot day. Plus, I got to use my Craigslist jogging double stroller I bought here for use while in San Diego. I really like it!
Corinne has been on a kite kick lately. I bought her one from the dollar bin thinking she could play with it during the evenings when the winds pick up. She liked it so much she has taken to sleeping with it. So when she saw there was professional kite flyer at Seaport, she about shat herself from excitement.
However she had a hard time understanding that those were not, in fact, "Myyy kites! Myyy kites!" Thankfully, the kite flyer was very nice and let her hold onto an anchored kite. Then she tripped over and tangled the strings. Sorry, Mr Kite Flying Dude. I think he was glad to see us leave.
Date time
My parents took the kids for an entire day so Matt and I had an extended date. We rode bikes around Coronado island, went to lunch at the Hotel Del, went on a boat ride, had dinner at the Fish Market (with bad service), and toured the Midway. It was....amazing.
College reunion
Our college friends, Vince and Erica came to visit along with their 3 kids:
The kids thought it was awesome that Lola the dog went swimming too.
Evan loves cake. His skin was purple for a solid two days after this.
Jill and Jeremy stayed the weekend too, so we had lots of pool time. Jill really worked with Corinne on her swimming and soon she was jumping off the edge, putting her face in the water and laying on her back letting the water touch her ears. Progress!
Nor Cal
Flying with kids still sucks. Especially when you add a 2 hour Tarmac wait. Hopefully next year will be better.
But, the torture was temporary, and we finally made it to San Francisco. True to form, Corinne adjusted to Pacific time, no problem. She runs on a 26 hour day. Evan had a harder time, as he runs on a 22 hour day.
They met Uncle Doug and his 3 girls. We went for a walk and the eldest put Evan in the ergo on HER back. I felt so light during my walk!
