I'll be able to enjoy a hot meal and make table small talk in peace one of these years, right?
I took a video asking the kids what they were thankful for. They both answered "Halloween". Um, sure. Priorities.
The next day, we were all driving in the car on the way to the zoo and decided to talk about what we each were thankful for. We asked Corinne, and clear as day, she said "ISIS".
Matt and I looked at each other. "Did she really just say ISIS?" "That's what I heard, too." "OMG too bad we weren't videoing this." "I KNOW."
Turning our attention back to her, "ISIS?" we asked.
"Yes, ISIS" she replied.
"Honey, umm, what is ISIS?" we prodded.
After much back and forth to determine what our speech impaired 4yo actually meant, it was determined that she was trying to say "pies". Like, thankful for pie. Much more in line with the previous day's thankfulness of Halloween.
Good to know that sugar, not extremist groups, makes the world go round
