Dislikes: going to bed, time out, anything that doesn't correspond to exactly what he wants at a particular time
He's starting to not want the boob as much. I've stopped nursing him "just because" and instead will only nurse in bed right before a nap or bedtime. So he's starting to realize that boob=bed, and if he doesn't want to go to bed, then he'll turn down the boob.
We started out his birthday celebration on Saturday 9/12 with a family birthday party. Now, with our cousins living in town, our "family birthday" parties are a bit bigger than just the 4 of us. Evan was so excited about his party starting, that 20 minutes before the guests were due to arrive, he pulled out his chair, sat in his seat, spread out his napkin, put his party hat on, and passed the time by singing "It's my birthday! It's my special day!"
He learned the fine art of eating chicken wings, liked the sip of beer he acquired, and tore into his presents with reckless abandon. Christmas is going to be over in record time this year.He flung the cards to the side. That will come in time, when he opens the cards first with more interest than the presents.
For months, he's been asking for a blue and brown cake ever since Corinne got to pick her princess cake. So, he got a blue (icing) and brown (chocolate) cake. I made it myself.
Corinne took a late nap and wasn't feeling very festive.
